Honey is a result-driven Chartered Accountant and Experienced Business Rescue Practitioner with more than 18 years of experience providing business turnaround, financial management, operational improvements, and efficient services to public and private sector clients. She has occupied strategic positions, creating shareholder value and enabling competitive agility to businesses within the Aerospace, Aviation, Advanced Manufacturing, Consulting, Defence, Education, Healthcare and Mining industries. She serves as an Executive and Non-Executive Director for several boards and committees.

Honey holds a Master in Business Administration (MBA), Chartered Accountant (ACCA), Business Accountant in Practice (SA), B.Com Honours (CTA), B.com Degree, and Business Rescue Certificate. She is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the South African Institution of Business Accountants (SAIBA), and the Turnaround Management Association of South Africa (TMA-SA).

Her qualifications and capabilities have enabled her to develop and implement turnaround and growth strategies, financial controls, risk management, corporate governance, supply chain management, productivity improvements, and change management for small businesses and multi-billion revenue companies.

Charles has a wealth of expertise in effective business management practices, supply chain management, international trade, business rescue & turnaround strategies, enterprise development and mentoring of business owners. He is licensed by the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) as a Senior Business Rescue Practitioner.

He has spent at least 10 years in financial services and supply chain. In that time, he has worked in various senior roles which provided him with a broad and well-rounded view of the financial landscape in South Africa in general and the dynamic and intricacies of business funding.

He spent most of his career at SAB Miller Africa where he was part of the Business Unit revenue management team and the finance specialist responsible for, but not limited to, business partnering, maximizing profitability, financial planning and analysis, managing trade investment spend, return on investment analysis, strategic implementation from data mining as well as in depth analysis regarding volumes, prices, costs, and customer spend. Managing the day-to-day operations of the Africa Zone Finance Department along with all corporate tax and regulatory reporting responsibilities, including the National Credit Regulator.

The Africa Zone includes operations covering East, West and Southern Africa (including South Africa) which all get supported centrally from the Johannesburg office. He created and managed a framework that monitored the achievement of goals and objectives. He also ensured that the procurement approval system was properly embedded in the procurement process. During his tenure in this role, he set-up and managed an export compliance team who serviced SABMiller Procurement and assisted in completing successful trial shipments. His views, opinion and general input have been highly sought after in highly strategic and complex deals in the financial institutions where he has worked.

Junior Business Rescue Practitioner

Nontando is a qualified Chartered Accountant with over 16 years of experience in audit and finance roles within the public and private sectors. She commenced her career at SizweNtsalubaGobodo Inc. as a trainee accountant in 2007, ascending to the position of audit supervisor in 2010 and subsequently being promoted to senior manager in 2012. Her expertise lies primarily in financial services, with a focus on clients in financial services, government and municipalities, financial institutions, development funds, retirement funds and collective investment schemes. Her key responsibilities encompassed audit, taxation review, advisory services, and consulting services.

In 2016, Nontando transitioned to the higher education sector, assuming the role of Director of Finance at the University of Venda. In this capacity, she led various units, including financial services, financial aid, management accounting and reporting, asset management, and supply chain management.

In 2020, before she joined Honey Advisory, Nontando was the Chief Financial Officer at the Vaal University of Technology, where her areas of expertise expanded to include accounting and reporting, strategy development and execution, financial planning, treasury management, grant management, asset management, governance, policy development and review, risk management, and supply chain management. She is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) and the South African Institution of Business Accountants (SAIBA).
